Changing Clutch on 1.2 Clio 2001

Hey everyone, need some advice or if possible just some information on any problems we may run into, me and my brother are going to attempt to the change the clutch in his 2001 (98-01 shape) 1.2 petrol clio as its slipping pretty badly. He just bought a haynes manual tonight and on first glance it doesnt seem too hard, we already have some axle stands and a jack (it doesnt lift the car very high though, just enough for the acle stand at its lowest setting) and a halfords profesional socket set thing(not sure which one, cost about £100 if i remember correctly) Should this be enough tools to get the job done or will we need anything specific to change the clutch, also anything to watch out for when changing it?

    Thanks for any advice.

    David

a clutch aligning tool will make the job easier but is not essential.

as said i had a word with my mate last night
nd he recently changed the clutch on hi sisters 1.2 clio

    his words are
" you cant get the box right out, only about 12" away from the fly wheel, but that should give you plenty of room. I had to make a dummy shaft with a deep socket and a long bolt"

other than that he reckons its easy enough and worth a try. at the end of the day its an experience

if you find you cant do it .. just put it all back together and get someone to do it

    hope you find this helpful

oh and he didnt use any special tools just his standard kit ..

    good luck

Cool, cheers for the advice, might be able to get it up into his mates garage with a pit and plenty of tools, if not its just gonna be in our dads garage giving it a blast.

    Cheers for the info.
