Lost in summer, born in winter, travel very far
Lost in losing circumstances, that's just where you are
That probably means absolutely nothing to all but a few, - maybe it's a few that were senscient in the early 70's or maybe have had a quick flick through your parent's good old vinyl collection, and had a listen sneaky
Were talking Prog Rock here, and a blast back to those freewheeling days when a small number of British musicians attempted to push rock as far as it could go and danced the thin line between rock, jazz, classical, psychedelia and art. Out were 3 minute pop ditties and in came works that lasted a whole side, gatefold sleeves, concept albums and musical over indulgence.
Band like Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, Emerson Lake and Plamer, Egg, Family and Soft Machine. Band's you've probably never heard of but they left a lasting legacy
But did anyone catch the Prog Rock night on Beeb4 last week? if you didn't and you're into rock history, then it's worth catching up via iPlayer on this often ignored era of British Rock.
Anyway. crank up the speakers give this a listen with an open mind... and remember it's over 35 yrs old before you judge it
