    front bumper

I'm thinking of getting a new front bumper. Mainly be cause my current one is peppered with stone chips and isn't in the best condition generally. It's the bit that lets my car down IMO.

A few folk have mentioned a GSI one on ebay for about £100. It's made from fibre glass. Obviously it's cheaper than a "real" bumper so I was wondering if someone could tell me any catches with this?

I saw an insurer (can't remember who) and one of their questions when seeking a quote was "has any panel been replaced with fibreglass?" does this mean it's a bad thing? What's a genuine Vx bumper made of?

    Thanks in advance.

knox i looked into this also i found that the fiberglass bumper brackets break on them quite easy so i didnt bother and saving for the real thing. as its made from plastic and the fiberglass bumper would basically fall apart if u hit somthing at a speed other than a plastic bumper is more solid thats why they properly asked you that question!

i have the fibreglass one on my van and to be honest i would of gone for a genuine if i could choose now the fibreglass ones come with no fixings or brackets at all i had to make some out of metal then fibreglass them to the inside of the bumper and the fit is nowhere near as good as a genuine one so really you get what you pay for

    How about this one:

Good price considering it includes painting. E-mailed the guy and he says it's plastic like the original, not fibre glass.
