Happy New Year to our few and far between Cumbrian members!
We've gained a few members since Kev and myself took the RO roles earlier this year but we have a massive way to go to get even close to the activity of some of the other smaller AOC regions.
Other regions try to organise a regular monthly say on the last Sunday of each month. Is this something that would help us improve things?
Having joint meets with other close regions is something I would like to persue aswell, especially the NE and Scottish Regions - the Scottish Region being split into 4 may now make that a little easier to link with the closer region(s).
We had a successful stand on the Cumbrian Classic Car Show last August and I'd like to arrange that again this year too. Vague thoughts of trying to get to aswell but I'll not know how feasible that will be until later in the year.
Are people happy with more car-related meets, or are curries etc a good idea or not? We can obviously mix these up so cars and other stuff can mix up.
I'm also keen on ideas to attract new members - flyering cars I see in carparks seems a slow way of doing this, not even sure if any members have joined because of this. I've got a small number of flyers in garages but perhaps I need to spread even more around - Cumbria is such a huge area that this will be a hard task I think!
Thoughts welcome from active and non-active Cumbrian members! If you are inactive in respect of meets, please let us know why and we'll try to address any issues!
