Go for a panel filter m8. To have a cone filter you would have to remove the airbox totally. The vauxhall engines suffer badly from heatsoak so to install a cone filter would just meaning sucking lots of hot air into your engine which is bad, but if you like the induction sound then go for it. Me personally and like a lot of other members would always recommend de restricting the airbox and fitting a larger air scoop such as the vectra c one and also either getting a foam filter like the K & N one or similar or just replacing the standard paper filter every six months or so.

    Quick question..

Does a K n N panel filter give off the same 'sporty' sound affect as a cone filter?

You may notice a bit more induction noise with the panlel filter but nowhere near as much compared to a a cone filter.

As Mr Fox says, it is a tiny bit more growly... But only when you nail it. And to be honest, the difference is negligable. An air filter alone won't do anything noticeable, get your airbox de-restricted and a performance exhaust... That should make you smile a bit more

Indeed... i've kinda made my mind up to address the exhaust before anything else in the new year. With the current economic climate, I can't justify an engine swap, so I'll just tweak the Z16 a bit for now
