    Crosshatch grill and bonnet tab

Hey guys, the mrs got me a crosshatch grill for xmas. i fitted it the other day and i had to cut oneside of the bonnet tab off like it said in the guide. Only prob is now that it sits out quite far. However iv already drilled the hole and moved it back further because i had a plain slatted grill. So what can i do? Has anyone else got this prob? i looked at trying to drill it further back but if i go anyfurther i dont think ill be able to pull it when u pop the bonnet lol.

    Cheers arron

Have a look in the how-to's mate for the mod. Basically, you drill a new hole further back in the catch, and seat the tab in the fresh hole. Very simple to do.

Just out of curiosity, if you leave the pull, does it stick out a stupid amount?

I've only seen them once they've been altered. I still have the standard Vaux grille & am undecided on a plain grille, an irmscher one or replica, and painting my 'V' on my standard.

Just wondered how bad the pull 'really' sticks out

Badly mate. Like a sore thumb, hence why people do the mod.

Ta. I figured it would be, but wasn't sure if it was more a 'perfectionist' alteration.

Just in the process of getting enough info at the mo as mine's totally standard & too many times in the past i've had a crack & seriously cacked up the job due to not finding out enough LoL. Not be making those mistakes again.

i also sprayed out the white arrow on the pull with a rattle can of matt black, as that white really stood out.

I fitted my Irmscher grille the other day and the tab stuck out so i drilled the hole about 1.5cm further back and its fine now. I did paint the tab matt black though.
