No you can't because the standard one is actually molded to the stick, what i did was got a gearknob from a model with a rod linkage (ie: not cable like the f23) which just twist's off, then i threaded it onto the short shift stick

Then i replaced the wee insert on the top with the one from the standard knob

Can get you a pic if you want?

That is a 'short shift' as in the gearstick is shorter and thats it.

Get a gearbox end quickshift as that alters the piviot points and shortens the travel.
The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...

Why do you want the standard knob back on? The good thing about the short shift is it makes it so easy to change the knob over. No sawing, just unscrew and stick another one on

I've got both on mine, mega short throw..lol

Gearbox one isn't too bad to do Marti, you've got to be quite force full with the roll pin tho, a normal claw hammer wasn't enough for mine so i ended up using a 4lb mash hammer, i soaked the pin in wd40 twice a day for 3 days too.

Lee, my short shift stick was also longer below the ball joint meaning the gearstick has to move less.
