increasing the value of my car

as above really, was wandering what you guys would recomend doing to help me make more money on my car, its an s reg 1.4 MK4 with 103000 on the clock, has a full service history and immaculate interior, only bits i can see that will need doing are some stonechips, flakey front bumper, rust on the arch and its kangarooing in second on occasions.

obviously i can get these rectified but dont want to spend say £300 to get it looking as new for it to only be worth an extra £100 so what suggestions do you have? ive been told as it stands its worth about £1500

At that age + mileage you will struggle to increase its value IMO mate. Like you say, spending £300 to get it looking better probably won't increase its value by £300

True a 1.4 with 100+k on the clocks is not worth 1500 at all.

You won't improve its value even if you spend the £300, you will however increase the chances of selling it at the price it's stated for.

Thats more constructive than what i said !

just make sure it's clean and tidy and maybe waxed to be looking it's best, you've done the most important thing by keeping it fully serviced.

    Although get it running right

The only thing I would suggest is if you are looking to shift it, then you are probably better returning it to standard... It will make it more sellable (is that a word?) to wider range of people.

Worth more like a grand tbh, regardless of how tidy it is. My 99' 1.6 16v LS with 85k was £1400 nearly a year ago.
