    Exhaust noise....what is it?

    Hi all,
The back of my Astra 1.6 Arctic 2 16v is making a vibration/rumble noise when I pull away and some times with I dip my clutch.
I have had a look at the exhaust and there is a sort of rubber type tube holding something in place and sticking out of the tube is a couple of rubber stoppers. One of the stoppers won’t stay in place, it keeps poking out and when I push it in the sound seems to stop.
I know nothing about cars and hoped someone could advise if this is the problem…and if it is, how can I fix it so the stopper stays in place?
I am doing a 300 mile journey on Friday and I am a little worried about it.
    Cheers,
    Al

Basically there is one of these on either side of the exhaust....does this cushion the exhaust to allow movement?
There are a couple of stopper type pegs as you can see and they seem to need to be pushed back in and securing in place.
    Could these be the culprits?
If so....any suggestions on how to sort it?

    Thanks,
    Al

Yeah it is......its funny that one of the stoppers sticks right out and when pushed back in the noise stops.

Well if the noise/vibration stops when you push the bung back in ?,
Then all you need to do is put another cable tie around that just like the bottom bung and it will stay in real easy to sort
