    Frozen Brakes

    Anyone lately having problems with frozen brakes in the morning. Every morning since saturday my brakes have been locked on and hand brake seams very slack. why is it happening??? All my familys cars are fine...
    Where are the Cumbrian Members??
    Anyone Seen Them!

    Apparently it's condensation in the handbrake cable freezing over night. I'm told spraying some de-icer down it helps but haven't tried it personally. If I know it's going to be cold, I leave the handbrake off and just leave it in 1st Gear. Just got to remember to take it out before you start it

    most ppl leave the handbrake off and park in gear if u know its gonna be frosty

    im the strange one that puts deicer down the ends of the cable! Ive never heard anyone do the same but it works for me!!! Just dont blame me if it goes wrong lol

    ive got in the car this morning and my hand brake is froze on,whats the best way to free them,will they shock off or might i do damage.
    use to drive arden blue gsi turbo.now sold
    239 bhp and 244 lb/ft

    Just release the handbrake. Stick it in 1st and leave it for a while. Eventually it does come off itself. Depends how fast you need to use your car I guess.

    Over the last couple of nights i have left the handbrake off and still in the morning the brakes are seized on. Why????

    I did wash the car on friday morning then friday nite all this cold weather came in and thats when the problem started.

    What can i do about it. hate my car at the min..

    I dont get this mind you i did stick my Car in the dome with 3 heaters to sort the ice out this morning
    I also give the brakes a wash every few weeks with jet wash

    what i do is wash all crap off with jet wash then give the cable a coat of copper slip stops them from sticking up
