    Leather cleaning

I am the proud owner of an Astra VXR and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a decent leather cleaner/protector?

I've read a lot on the subject about whether products that supposedly moisturise and feed the leather actually work or whether its better to go for a protector, but I'm still no wiser on a product that actually works and works well.

    Thanks in advance

Every time its discussed, Gliptone seems to be the favourite choice.

If your VXR is fairly new I wouldn't bother with the cleaner, just get the conditioner. if its a couple of years old it may be worth using the cleaner as well.

It'll still be worth uing the cleaner first as you don't know how long the leather had been sat on the roll before Recaro trimmed the seats, and who knows how long ago they did that!!!

But as Dave has said, Gliptone should be the weapon of choice. Don't use a protector as you can suffocate the leather.

A few phrases to contradict that:

If you're gonna do a job, do it properly.
    That'll do, won't do.
All those Armour All wipes are is baby wipes, they won't treat the leather properly, only clean it

My Dads Astra has leather on the back seats and by the vanity mirror.

I use Carplan Leather protector it gives a good shine and it leaves the car smelling like a Rolls Royce.

    Gliptone mate! Superb stuff!

Check out my pics on the link below. My coupe is a 51 plate so near on 8 years old now and it brought my leather up superbly!!!!!
