Day one of my Coupe, first problem

Day one of my Coupe and it's first problem. I picked up my Coupe from my mates tonight and on the way home I thought I would test the boost, I put my foot down and the boost came in lovely, next thing the car with the spanner light comes on and I loose half power. What could that be? Cheers for any info

I've not looked under the bonnet yet. The lad I bought it off said something about it might needing a new lambda sensor. If I get stuck I will get my mate to put it on his Vaux Com software and see what faults it's throwing up. Would the lambda sensor make my car do that issue I have above? Cheers

lambda can do pretty much anything it wants to ive found

dont rule out the zlet classic of the AFM although usually accompanied by the TC light at the same time

seeing as it only takes 2 mins - do the pedal trick above and see if u get a code

My mate also said driving it with the lambda sensor gone can cause damage to the turbo, is this true?

thats a new one on me mate - if its running in limp mode and reduced boost then the ECU has obviously detected a fault and limiting power so in this case it cant really damage turbo

think u need to stop listening to this mate lol

stop worrying about things - get it on a reader or do the diy test - check under the bonnet and then you should have a clearer picture

    pointless just guessing

I'll do that tomorrow when it's light mate. I can't even remember if I lifted the bonnet last night when I was having a look around it lol
