    front window heating

problem is that my front window heaters, only give off tiny amount of heat air, therefore my front window steams up bad, although the other heater vents do give off quite alot of heat, just don't know why the front window vents do not give alot of air.

Removing the glovebox is a piece of piss, 6 torx bolts easily accessible from inside the passenger footwell. When you pull the glovebox out just be careful with the internal light connector on the right hand side, mine looks a little breakable

Not sure where you go from there though

lol I did that first time I took my glove box out, forgot about the light, luckily the connector just popped off the light.

May sound silly, but if it's just the window de-mist air that's low, surely that would indicate something like a pipe that's come off or something relating to just that pipe?

Although if there's a filter that just does the window air, then maybe the previous posts are correct

I think my first port of call would be checking the pipes and the filter(s), seeing as the problem seems to be isolated with the one air outlet.

turn off the vents on the dash, air still comes from them even if you've set the knob to the window, then all the air goes onto the window and it de-mists it a lot quicker

Also try turning on the air conditioning, clears much quicker with it on.

Also, does anyone else get little condensation patches at the bottom of their windscreen? Probably about 3 of them in total, measuring roughly 2-3" square. Seems as if there might be tiny gaps in the seal at the base of the windscreen allowing outside (or just non-heated) air in.

I have only had my 1.7TD "g" mk4 for 4 weeks and it was also misting badly. After reading the helpful advice on here and looking at the pollen filter guide, i changed the filter and hey presto my misting problems have gone: http://www.astraownersclub.com/docum...cal/pollen.pdf
