    VXR/OPC Tracking

Just had my 2006 Astra OPC (its an opel) serviced. Along with my service I brought 2 new front tyres with me to be fitted. I expected to be charged about €20 to fit them. To my shock I was charged €65 as they decided to perform tracking on all 4 wheels??? Does the vxr/opc requirer 4 wheel tracking, I thought 2 wheel would have been fine? Also I had been looking at the tyres as I was very aware that the threads there getting very low. As far as I could tell the wear was very even on the front and rear. Is misalignment easy to spot to the untrained eye?

    Thanks in advance..!

    Is it lowered?

I generally think it's good practive to get alignment done when new tyres are fitted.

No its not lowered. I suppose at least if there was something wrong with the alignment it will be fixed now. Lesson learned...!

It's pretty easy to knock the tracking out.... the odd unavoidable pot hole etc.

they should have rang to ask you if you wanted the tracking doing though first before doing it.
We carry out 4 wheel alignment at the garage i work at, and ye its good practise to get it done every year or so just to check everything is ok, as Coo says, its easy done knocking the tracking slighlty out of line. Did they give you a printout of the wheel alignment?
