    I doubt it.

That is a major safety part of the vehicle.
They wouldn't allow the public to disable it by a switch.
It would have to be done via vaux tech 2 or something, but I doubt they would do it either, as they would be putting your passengers at risk, & therefore, liable.

I dont think Vauxhall have ever had the option.

My 'W' reg Punto has a switch to disable the passenger one so you can fit a child seat.
The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...

Thats What I Need It For. I Have A Baby On The Way In April And Had Heard That Some Cars Had A Switch Or Could Be Deactivated With A Key. Cheers

Are we talking about the mk5? Most new cars have the option for child seat as mentioned. you normally have to insert the main car key and turn the switch using the key. Its normall in the glovebox itself or on the side of the dash which you can see when the door is open.

I was going to say the same, the only experience ive had of disableing them was on a 206, where i had to put the key in the side of the dash on the drivers side.

I'm maybe being stupid here but i'm sure I read in the handbook for the car that the airbag is deactivated by something in the child seat that the car detects.

According To The Manual (P95) If Your Car Has Seat Occupancy Recognition, You Can Fit A Vauxhall Child Restraint With Transponders Which'll Disable The Airbag Automatically.

My Rav 4 had a switch on the side of the glovebox that you had to put your key into to turn it off.
