    hey,
got a sony head head unit and the right leads to connect it to my steering wheel (thanks for the info guys) now here is the question. ive read on here about the steering wheel control lights and the mdf disply with date ect. when i fit my cd player will i have to cut the wires to get the control to light up and the date on the mdf of will these wire sort it out? my girl friend has bought the cd player and stuff for christmas so i havnt fitted it yet hence the question.

If you want the date to stay on the MFD all the time cut a red/white wire at the display

Because it's a sony the steering wheel control lights go out when the cd'd playing. I believe you can switch on TA to keep them on

someone else asked this question which i just read.

for those who wont want the traffic reports, but also want the steering lights to stay on i believe there is something that can be done with the blue wire coming from the head unit, and attaching that onto the steering controls, i guess for a permanent feed? not entirly sure but have a look round for the question i seen that someone else asked...
