    Alpine stalk controls adaptor?

Hi all, just a quick query.

I have recently fitted an alpine headunit to my Astra, car is a 2002 '52' plate 1.6 Comfort, which had a CDR500 standard headunit and the car is equipped with steering wheel mounted audio controls, just looking for an adaptor to make my new headunit work with the steering wheel control buttons.

My headunit model is: an Alpine "CDA 9831R" which adaptor do I need and where will I get it from? links if possible?

Have heard the autoleads ones can be temperamental and problematic so would rather avoid these if possible.

Also, how can I get the date display to show of my MFD even when i have my stereo switched on? I've been told cutting the red/white wire on the headunit wiring does this but also cuts the lighting of the steering wheel control buttons.

any way I can keep the steering wheel buttons lit up and still have the date permanently showing?

    cheers.

To keep the date up the top and the steerign wheel controls lite up cut the red/white wire at the top diaplay

Adaptor wise i'd get the Connects2 version http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_p...artno=CTSVX001

Don't forget the alpine patch lead from the same site too
