Z20LET Vacuum Leak & Actuator Position

    Hi Guys

I have a factory standard Coupe Turbo

I have found a hole in the plastic pipe that runs from the OEM Dump Valve to the Vacuum Reservoir. Can this cause problems or loss of power? Please advise. Here is a pic...

    Will fix the leak tonight.

Then I would like to know wat should be the Actuator's correct position? I have not changed it since I got the car but this weekend I saw that its not in the middle. Bellow is a picture of how it is set currently, do I need to change it?

Yes the hole will loose you boost and therefore power.
Actuator doesn't look too bad but is best set with a boost gauge.

Thanks alot for the quick reply. I will fix the leak then and will set the actuator when I have installed my boost gauge.

What should a standard coupe boost just for interest sake?

Also to add, if you have a small leak you may still reach 8-9psi but the turbo will be working harder to achieve this.

Having a leak on that pipe is bad, it'll cause the valve to not shut properly on boost and stop the vacuum from opening the valve to dumping air. You must be getting massive turbo stall...

Ah thanks for the reply....The car is down on power from my last dyno, and the flutter is really loud!

What do you guys recomend? Replace the whole vacuum line or can I just join it?

I wouldn't recommend driving it much until its fixed....

You could cut it and use a larger bit of pipe to join with 2 clamps either side... Depends how much a new bit of pipe costs?

Also the actuator, its probably adjusted right as is.... But if you feel the need to adjust then loosen off the nuts, hold the waste gate shut, by hand move the bottom nut to waste gate arm then tighten 1 turn with spanner. Then just tighten top one down and done....

Thanks alot Enkidu for the reply. You are a great help!

I think I will be replacing all the Vacuum lines on the car with new pipes just to make sure. And when I fit a boost gauge then I will see if I need to adjust the Actuator.
