    Went to Woolworths earlier...

And they are having a massive sale, the shelves were really empty, and there was a notice on the window about it going into administration....so Im guessing it hasn't been rescued then?

    RIP Woolies if its true

Thay have gone into administration and its been on the news for two weeks.
The whole company has an estimated value of UK £1.00 yes 1 pound so thats the answer to your question.
I'm like a bad penny, old, dirty, and appears when not wanted.

shame had great memories as a child going to woolies for sweets, toys, etc. now everything is just over priced and alot cheaper at tescos for pretty much everything. they just cant keep up.
i can see hmv and zavvi going next. cd and dvd prices are a good few pound more then all supermarkets.

    Did you read the post??

"so Im guessing it hasn't been rescued then?"

Would suggest GTE_LET and others know its going into administration - the comment was whether they had found a buyer.

IMO woolies were always going to struggle with the rise of online shopping.

Shame Theo Panflet didn't buy it...

Crawley branch was the same on Saturday. MFI have packed up and gone too. They were flogging off display stock when we passed on the weekend.

apparently not all shops will close
the ones that make money will remain open (so the staff have been told)

they are not accepting deliveries of stock though which kinda contradicts that
