    tyres

    Im after some new tyres as mine are little bit worn shall we say!!!

    got a astra bertone mk4 if it helps

    Im on 17s and lowered 40mm its scrubs on the back arches 60% of time and im running 225/45/zr17

    anyone got any ideas of how lower profile i should go?

    p.s am i after 225/35/17??

    I think you are using mk5 tyres there. I would have said 215/40/17 or a 215/45/17 for a mk4

    As above, on a Mk4 coupe with standard 17's you want to be using 215/40/17 or 215/45/17 and you'll get no rubbing at all

    225/35/zr17 are not a tyre for a mk4 which would explain the scrubbing. either that or wrong offset wheels. tyres you want are 215/40/zr17s or if you want to save quite a bit then 205/40/zr17s will do. In terms of the profile i dont think they do any skinnier than 40 in the 205 and 215 but i may well be proven wrong

    The 205's with the 40 profile will be skinnier than the 215s with a 40 profile as the 40 is a percentage of the width. (or 40% of 215.)
