    Which diesel??

Currently driving a 2.2 sri and was thinking of switching to a diesel. I was wondering which model to go for between the 1.3 cdti or the 1.7?? Would like to know your opinions on these 2 models please. Also what things do I need to look out for when buying?

pass onn them both and go for a 1.9 cdti 150, it'l be quicker than your 2.2, unless you want ultimate economy then theres nothing that beats a 1.3, 60-70 mpg and £35 a yr tax
project smoker is now stepping up a notch check garage for details

if its illegal to smoke until the age of 18 my astra should of been locked up ages ago!

All comes down to what budget your looking at tbh.
Between the 1.3 & 1.7 CDTi;s personally I would go with the 1.3 as imo. it drives better and is a bit punchier than the 1.7 as well as having the 6-speed gearbox. Its also worth bearing in mind there are 3 versions of the 1.7CDTi, 80ps, 100ps and now 110ps (110ps now also comes with the 6-speed box).

Came out around 6-months or so IIRC. Its lower emissions than the 100PS version (135 g/KM rather than 149 g/KM in the 100PS), falls into to Vauxhall;s Ecoflex programme.

1.3CDTi in the Astra 90ps (Corsa also has the 75ps option).
Average fuel consumption on the 1.3 & 100ps 1.7 are the same at 57/56mpg respetfully, 110ps is 62mpg.
