Fuel pump reconditioning in glasgow area?

Anyone know of anywhere that reconditions fuel pumps, and roughly how much it would cost?

My 98reg 1.7td's fuel pump has died and Ive been quoted £1,070.40 for a new fuel pump+vat+labour+vat on that+the diagnostics etc..+vat ontop of all that etc...

Need to find out if I can get this done alot cheaper,or if its time to wave goodbye to trusty family bus.

Still paying off the bank loan,so no new car for me

    Any idea on the pricing?

The pump isn't coded which Im told helps, just not sure on how much I'd be looking at paying for either a recon,or a 2nd hand job.

I did get offered a pump, ecu, condenser etc.. from a guy on ebay for £350,but Im kinda reluctant to fork out when it might not work.

i'm on with this at the moment.

there are a few places that will do you a reconditioned one for about £500 at a guess (exchange) but you'll need the pump off.

google can be your friend if you get stuck

Was hoping for cheaper as I can get a new pump for £650+VAT,gonna be sitting in with my bosses tomorrow for a wee chat about what Im gonna be doing.
They want me to get a new car,if I can talk them into paying for it then I may do that, really do want my own wee beast back though,I miss it already only been parted for a week.
