    Help on getting key cut

    I have a mk 4 astra and when i bought the car about 6 months ago the master keys chip had broke so the guy was using a spare which he'd already had cut

    Since i only have one key will i be able to get another key cut off my spare and if so how will i code it?

    you can't code it yourself, places that can cut keys will have a code reader, and will put your code onto a new coded key, they cost upwards of £40, or depending you might be able to get an original vauxhall one from Vx cheap. have a word at your local dealer
    Probably the ONLY Astra Mk3 sitting on Corsa D SXI rims!

    the only way i know off is to take it to vauxhall and get them to programme it in using tech2

    i mean, they duplicate the code on the key you allready have, and put it onto a blank key, then cut the key to fit the lock on your car

    So i should go to an official Vauxhall dealer to do this?

    It can be cut off my spare key that is already coded then?

    There is no spare and master key on vauxhalls, just maybe the difference between remote and non remote keys

    The key can be ordered from the key code card which is then needed to program it to the car
