Trouble starting car after it has been running

The car will start fine on a cold start, but if i fill up with fuel or leave it for a few minutes and then re-start it has trouble getting going again, it might just start and judder for a bit and dies.
It has just had a service so that should be all o.k.
just wonderd if you lot know or have heard of anything..

    it is a zafira 2.2, 51 reg.

i had this trouble with my 1st corsa b it was a 1.2 sxi tho so might be a diff reason. then i had it plugged into a computer the only code was the engine coolent sensor (left hand side of the engine on the corsa) i changed this and it never happend again. l also put some fuel line cleaner in my car once a month or so just to give my fuel lines and injectors abit of a clean, dont know if this makes a difference tho

as above - if it struggles to start after its been running then it could very well be the CTS (coolant temperature sensor)

For your Z22SE engine a replacement will cost about £15

    Vauxhall part number 15326388

Sadly none on ebay uk so cheaper getting one from your local dealer

Quite a common problem - only takes a couple of mins to replace

Heres what the part looks like http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEVR...Q5fAccessories

Taken from ebay (USA) but obviously dont waste time waiting for delivery lol - dealer should get u one in a few days

may not be exactly the same on the vaux engines but i know a few people that have had exactly the same problems on other cars and every time its turned out to be crank postion sensor.

most of them were french cars tho

    hopefully someone can claify

yeah theres a few common causes of this and the crank sensor is one of them

Its obviously second guessing unless a fault code is stored and therefore a diagnostic hook up is required

you could obviously try the DIY method but youd be better off replacing the CTS and taking it from there - its also the cheaper of the two

it should work on the 2.2

did it just say error or summit?

try the pedal trick anyway but i doubt any codes will be stored

I have been told the OBD 2 does not work with the 2.2's, tried it on the 2.2 vectra and zafira and wont work, but does work on our zafira GSI,

Any way back the the coolant sensor bit, went to get a take aeay last night (about 800 yards down the road) and it was really cold so i took the car, got there, waited about 15 mins and went back home, well it started first time without a problem - so the coolant sensor is looking good..

or at least it was that time!!!

cant take risks where elec sensors are concerned -- give it time and it'll probs pack in again lol

im surprised the OBD doesnt work on the 2.2 - never heard that before - what about the DIY pedal method?
