    how to check if someone is insured

    i ask as today the wife had a bump in car and other party were not too sure about details. i have car reg and name of insurer but i have typed it in google and it comes up with a insurance brokers so make me think if there insured or not.

    name he gave her was brokerking??? anyone heard/used them

    all he gave her was insurance company name and his name and mobile number
    ...

    why not phone your insurance company up?
    they will be able to check on MID

    Check on www.askmid.com that shows wether a car is showing on the motor insurance database. Says you need to own the vehicle but also states you need Good reason to be chaecking, i would say having an accident with said vehicle is a good reason for checking. ive used it a couple of times.

    I wouldn't solely rely on askmid, as it's not always completely up to date.

    As laddo said above, best bet is to ring your insurance company, and tell them. They will be able to do the leg work.

    Hand the details over to your insurance company and let them deal with it.

    It is fairly upto date, My insurance company messed up and didn't change over my insurance on the system when I changed cars, sorted it out on Wednesday and it's updated since then.

    we agreed to do it without insurance but after i heard what he has said etc. doesnt all add up to me he wasnt very forth coming with information

    he has insurance on MID just need to dig deep now as it was an imported subaru with aluminium bonnet and bonnet is needing replaced and i need to get like for like just trying to work out if a can find a cheap seibon carbon bonnet as he said that he would have one of them.
