    broken bones!

Grrr. I've fractured my right shoulder and it's annoying! Did it about a week ago at Muai Thai kick boxing and now I can't even lift my arm up to, for example, touch my head. It just won't move. Hospital chucked a sling on it and said "give it time" - great.

    so....

any ideas how long? are there any exercises I should do to help etc??

    advice please!

After removing the strap and sling, the doctor will prescribe exercises to strengthen the shoulder and restore movement. Surgery is occasionally needed for certain clavicle fractures.

Doesnt say when you should start any excercises though, but I personally wouldn't for at least a couple of weeks, you may do more damage than good if you push it.

when the hospital looked at you did they advise you to go see a physio at all or even your gp? i broke a huge chunk off my right elbow last year, after the doc looked at it and threw it in a sling, they told me to go see my gp after about a week to check on its progress. went in to see my gp and he booked me into the john radcliff hospital for 3 weeks later to see a physio that gave me helpfull tips and a few exercises.

he said it would take a year for me to move it properly but id never be able to fully straiten it out again.

as its a fracture though im guessing it will be about 1-2 months before you can move it without discomfort but cant be 100% on that bud
