Car Tax Rises Postponed Until 2010!

Just saw it on the pre-budget report, the freaky bloke with the weird eyebrows is postponing the controversial car tax increases until 2010... it'll only go up by a maximum of £5 next year, and will be phased in later. He also said the rises will be no more than £30 when they do come in!

Didn't see that one coming eh?

Awesome, but in 2010 will it start at the 2009 price, or jump straight to the 2010 price

He was a bit ambiguous, but I think your everyday band F car will be up by a maximum of £30 instead of the £70+ it was going to be.

    Still good news tho

    All lovely BUT...

Petrol, cigarettes and alcohol all going up to compensate for VAT decrease. That'll be at least 2.5% on the prices at the pumps. Mark my words though I bet that the VAT rate goes back to 17.5% but the tax on the pumps stays.

    NI up. Great.
    Tax up.

So you get to take home less money and pay more for the privilege.

It will never go up like they said it would in the big steps as as soon as they introduce it it would cause so much up roar people would vote them out.
