    Standard alloys or aftermarket alloys??

    Hi Guys,

Just wanted your opinion on the dilema I'm having with my Astra 2.0 SRI.

As you can see from the link below, she is standard apart from a 60mm drop on SRI alloys:

I have a set of 17" BK299s to go on but need to make the car higher as they wont fit under the arches. See link below:

Do you think it looks better standard or with the BK299s? or does it scream 'chav'? Lol

    Your opinions please!

why cant you get 17s on m8? do they have the wrong size tyres? 17s should go on easy even with a 60mm drop with the right offset and tyre size

Well they have 215/45/17s on at mo and only tried them as in the pic i.e not actually fitting them. Tbh would rather they had 215/40/17

Aside from that issue I'm still unsure as to leave the sri alloys or change to the 299's

please tell me youve actually tried to fit the wheels and not just take a pic of them sitting by the current wheels?

As said above - providing they are the correct size rubber then they will fit no worries

Being lowered such a small amount could also have implications particularly if the offset is too low on the BK rims

My advice - check the dimensions of the BKs (rim width and offset) then whack em all on (properly this time!!!) then see the situation

yeh prob worth just trying them on m8 but should be 215/40/17s really have a look on the wheels and see what the offset is, it should have an ET no. ideally it needs to be between 40 and 50 really but you may get issues if not

TBH I tried to take them off and fit them properly but the locking nut key snapped a tooth and need to order one from main dealer (I have the key number so no worries there).

Still know one has commented on which set of alloys look the best

    Come on Guys!!

I like those BK rims and with the right profile tyres they should fit no problem with a 60mm drop (et45 IIRC which is near perfect offset)

GSI, Coupe/SRI Turbo, Veccy GSI and Corsa VXR wheels all look decent on a MK4

i like the bk rims too, tbh the main reason they look like they wont fit is due to your wheels being smaller than the alloys, the studs wont be lining up the same, if you put the wheels on you will see what i mean. looking forward to see what you go for
