you could get some expensive Castrol oil, but why not try some Halfords part synthetic stuff, sometimes they have an offer on, where ya get free screwdrivers, and they arn't bad either

its cheapish, and oil is oil, so long as it lubricates your engine

If only it was as easy as that

Ive used a combination of Vauxhall, Castrol & Mobil1 over the past 4months and because of that I need another top end rebuild so trust me - its not as easy as saying "all oil is oil"

My advice for you is to stick with a good 10w40 semi such as the Vauxhall stuff - seeing as ur a full AOC member then you should be able to take advantage of the recent trade club authorisation and score some decent discount.

this depends on the mileage of the engine what tuning has been done and what sort of runs the engine does, Castrol & Mobil1 used both of these, castrol the oil needed changing every 1500 miles and the mobil 1 every 4 to 5 miles silkolene is much better than castrol and mobile 1 and gave more bhp and mpg

Mobile 1 4 -5 Miles? that is a typo surely? but going to what is said above, it really depends on what sort of driving the engine does, and how its tuned, Personally i think Geordiebandit is talking out of his arse. For the last few years I've regularly serviced my engines with Castrol GTX and I've had no problems with it, Currently running my Isuzi diesel on Halfords branded stuff, as when i got it, it needed topping up, again no problems to report, but then again, i dont know Geordiebandit so I dont know how he drives his engine/car or his service intervals
