HID's on a MK 5 Sri XP (With AFL)

    Hi everyone,

you may have heard all this before but I am thinking of buying HIDs for my SRI Astra. (I have the AFL lighting system on mine by the way)

Was looking at these, anyone bought these?:

    http://www.lmfvauxhall.co.uk/store/p...at=2429&page=1

However, I have been looking around and have heard not get 8000k as you get alot of reduced lighting, is this true? So maybe 6000K?

I want to know if I install HIDs, will these affect the mechanism that re-alines the lights on the AFL system automatically? If so I will not go there. Anyone know what bulbs are used in the AFL system also?

Where did most of you guys pick your HIDs up from? Any links much appriciated.

    Thanks.

    Ash

HID's are available on ebay for about £35 delivered

Just get different bulbs if you want to change the colour.

    Crisp white will be 6000k

For a MK5 you will need either need to get a CANBUS compatable HID kit (£100+) or buy a cheap kit (around £35) and get a pair of CANBUS adaptor leads (around £20).

If you want to know where to get them from PM me!

How can you convert standard lights to hids on MK5 - or is it not possible?
