    Which Digital Camera?

    Hey Guys and Girls.

Basically, I want a camera, I've not currently got one, but have been after one for a while. Im thinking about a digital slr one, a fairly decent one, but dont want to spend loads.

I've got no idea what so ever about cameras so I need some help and recommendations.

The things I need to be able to do with it:

    High resolution/quality
Air Release / or Remote for taking the pictures.
Able to use a tripod with it.

I dont even know what to spend, are you able to get anything decent for a few hundred?

    Advice please

i got my nikon d80 for about 400ish 2nd hand, resolution is 10.2mp i think. works with tripod, can get wireless or wired remotes.
there are cheaper models available like the d60 or d40, but don't think resolution is as high, or as many features.

thats another good point, Im unsure if to go slr or not slr..

preferably id like to buy from somewhere like ebuyer..

and another criteria, it'd be nice if the viewing screen could flip around so i can see it

why would you want the screen to flip round lol? One thing to remember with SLR's is that very few have live view, so you need to use the proper viewfinder all the time not the screen when taking pics.

I have a panasonic lumix FZ7 which I am very happy with. Its classed as a super zoom camera? Most of the lumix cameras seem pretty good, and they are quite cheap. Think I paid £150, so it wont be the end of the world if it gets damaged, unlike a £400 DSLR.

Only funny thing is the view finder is a small LCD on mine?

my fuji bridge camera was like that, never really used the view finder for that reason and always used the screen.

IMO the best thing to do mate is buy a bridge camera like a fuji or a lumix as they will have the features you want. Then upgrade to an SLR at a later date if find you are using it at lot and want that bit extra.

I recommend the fuji S9600 very good and now very cheep.
I wish I had live view when I went to the REAT as trying to take a moving picture of a low flying stealth bomber is a pain.
Have a look in your local camera shop as any decent shop will let you have a play.
I'm like a bad penny, old, dirty, and appears when not wanted.
