Arrow Help Required With Alarm Problem

    Hi everyone,

I have an astra G/Mk4 I had to replace the drivers door barrel as it had a lock change and the remote key supplied only worked the ignition and locked and unlocked the car via the remote.

Problem I now have is that I can still lock and unlock the car with the remote on the key which also arms and disarms the alarm,

    butttt

when I lock the car with the key that works fine and arms the alarm but if I try to unlock it with the key the alarm goes off - the key will not disarm it only the remote.

its a standard sri 2.0 with standard vauxhall alarm fitted.

please can someone help or make a suggestion or 2, or 3

    cheers

    Alex

The alarms are only designed to disarm by the remote signal or the transponder signal when the ignition is turned on, unlocking the car by the door barrell doesn't disarm the alarm

    Question

so how come when I lock the car with either the spare key or the remote key the alarm arms its self, but if I go to unlock it - the alarms stays on - Ie. wont go off and I have to press the button on the remote key.

Cause what happens if my remote key doesnt work for any reason and I lock it with the spare key the alarm will arm when locked but will not disarm when I unlock.

    ????????

If you knew how easy the door locks are to get around you would be glad the alarm only disarms with a working remote, as you say it can be armed by the remote or by locking the door manually

If your remote doesn;t work as I said above it would disarm when you start the car up by the transponder signal from the key
