    MK4 GSi Tyre Recommendation

    Hi All,

I have searched through the forum for tyre recommendations for a MK4 GSi running standard power, but there are so many recommended, and some recommendations are a few years old.

I was wondering if there were any GSi owners who would like to shed some light on tyres they have bought recently bought that are good. Id like something that is good in the dry and wet really.

I went to Kwik-fit (just for a quote) and 4 x Conti Sport Contacts were........ £738!!

    I really cant afford that!

I have looked on the camskill website and have seen some Toyo Proxies T1R's (set of 4 for £259) which sounds great, but just a bit cheap, so im curious as to whether they are good or not.

Need to purchase by the end of this month as MOT is due.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need 4, and they are 215/40/17.

    Thanks
    Richie

I had Goodyear Eagle F1s on mine for the 5 years I owned it. Not TOO expensive, good in the wet and a nice tread pattern
Quite soft so don't expect too many miles out of them though. Highly recommended.

I'm running Toyos T1r's. Can't really fault them. Good performer and a better price. I used camskill too.

I've got Toyo Proxes on mine and think there great tyres, although I have 205/40 to give them a slight stretched look.
