    The pressures of tyre pressure!

    Hi,
I have a 1997/8 Astra Arctic 2 1.6 16v and I have no clue how much air to put in.
I looked in the a manual but the pressures seem low.
It was something like 28 front and 24 back.

Can anyone give me the correct answer as I have 4 different variations!!!
    Thanks in advance.

    Al

I always wondered about this. Here are my dealings with tyre pressure:

My 1.8 coupe says 29 front and 26 rear in the manual for the standard 16's.

When I put my 18s on with 225/35 tyres i just guessed and put 31 front and 28 rear.

The front tyres are now near the end of their life and they have worn slightly more in the inside than the outsides of the tyre. About 4 months back a guy who fits tyres said to me no matter what profile or alloy size the psi should be the same as there is still the same weight on them. So I put them to the 29 26 as the manual says. I reckon if I had kept to the stock psi my tyres would have worn evenly.
