    Cheap nice mods :)

Right I got a 1.6 Mk5 SportHatch and want a bit more oomph

I've derestricted the air box and put a VXR intake on it - just wondering if there are any more cheap mods that I could do?

    Thanks!

you could try taper porting the throttle body, port match inlet and exhaust manifolds to the gaskets, up grade standard cat with bigger inlet and out let pipes, straight though type design silencers, bigger inside diameter exhaust 50mm to 62mm, port and tune and flow air box, bigger inside diameter induction pipe from back of air box to throttle body,

It depends what you class as cheap?

IMO the next move would be a decent exhaust system, after that it all depends on how much you want to spend on what is in effect only a small gain on the 1.6 engine.

can you do welding if so then you can make your own exhaust system, my exhaust came from a 2 litre turbo diesel citroen doner vehicle the inside diameter of me standard exhaust was 39mm and the 2 litre exhaust is 52mm
