    z18xe or x18xe?

    Hey lads,
    Ive got a question, I look on the sticker on my engine, And It says very faintly 18xe, but i dont know if its a z18xe or x18xe

    Its a 1.8 Mk5 2005 automatic?

    z18, the x series engine was used in cars before 2001

    The cheapest mods you can do would be, vxr intake, derestricted airbox with a performance panel filter and a cat back exhaust, after that its big bucks to get power. These changes wont give you a huge increase but its where you should start, i have an x18xe1 and i noticed a difference.

    whats the diff with the z18xe and z18xe1 ?
    can you add the vxr intake i thought it was teh veccy c intake

    VXR intake is for the mk5, vectra c intake for the mk4.

    Dont think there is a z18xe1 just a z18xe, the x18xe1 is the older engine fitted to the earlier mk4 cars and only has 113bhp as standard where as the z18xe has 123bhp.

    Ah right, I thought the veccy c was for the mk5 aswell, goin to look into the vxr intake now lol

    6th Vauxhall (4th Astra) in 10 years...plus a couple of other sheds...

    What year was it used from? Also is there a z18xe1 and a z18xe, i wasnt 100% sure.

    I think the z18xer came out in 2006+ didnt it, any one got any photos etc of the vxr intake mod?
