    Talking Veccy C pipe

I have been thinkin about de-restricting the airbox and fitting a veccy c pipe as i have noticed many people on here have done. Looking for some suggestions where's best to get hold of the veccy c pipe and also how effective is the mod without this part. All opinions welcome!

i derestricted the airbox this weekend on my 1.4 astra mk4 and its a lot smoother up the rev range, defo pulls faster from a standstill, i havent done the veccy c intake but im sure itl make a slight difference.

get one from vauxhall., dont fall for intakes for 60 quid off ebay and stuff

should be able to get one for about a tenner

Read the HowTo in the Technical Guides section - it has the two part numbers in it that you take to your Vauxhall dealership Parts Dept and say 'I would like these please'. Hand over ~£15 and voila. They may have to order them in but takes no more than a day or two.

Doesn't add massive power etc, it just does as above and perhaps lets a horsie or so out

ever the one to be looking after his money, i've not found an answer to this question so far ......

how does doing this (either the derestricting OR the Vectra C pipe OR both), affect the mpg?

Will it lower it, increase it, or will it just remain the same?

    Cheers

Can't say I found any change in mine, even with a K&N panel filter and S catback. And that's doing 400 miles a week of checking too. Mine went down badly for a few days as the ECU sorted the new airflow rates out, then went up (?) then settled back to normal again.
