Boost Guage fibrelassed into vent - Been busy today :)

Made this for Beefy on here today. Started off with a standard heater vent surround, a day later ended up with a boost guage mounting pod.

First off i used a dremel to cut away excess plastic, then glued a plastic square in the space where the vent used to be.

Next up was to use p20 fibreglass to stiffen the plastic square.

I then reinforced the front with glass matting and fibreglass.

Applied a few thin layers of filler sanding in between, followed by primer.

Cut a hole for the guage.

    Gloss Black Paint.

The gauge doesn't quite sit flush as it was to small and fiddly to make a ring to avoid the curve, its a decent fit though and its almost flush

First attempt at one anyway so its not to bad. I'm not sure if i'll be making these for more people as the price people will pay i wouldn't really make much money and they are fairly time consuming to do.

that does look pretty good actually, however I'm a sucker for keeping vents, partly because I do use them, but if i was to do a pod build I would do it in the pillar

you have to pull the vent out first, and the switchgear i think just clips out, then screws hold it into the dashboard, its a similar thing to that on Mk3's
