take the radio out and then the panel comes off. Does it work on any speeds? If only owrks on full speed then it is the resistor pack thats faulty

I would test the back of the switch with a volt meter and see if it is getting any current. You will need to start at the begenning and use old fashioned electric tests and a meter or bulb holder and long cables

    resistor for heating motor

My heating/ aircon fan would only work on speed four and I was told it was the resistor at a cost of £75 to replace. It has now failed again after only five weeks is this a common problem in the astra sxi sport and is the cost of £75 io replace it excessive

The resistor is a common problem but shouldn't fail again so soon

The last one I changed all the wiring was also corroded which needed cleaning up as it kept stopping working while I was wiggling the wires

Only changed 1 so far and that had lasted for years and is still going strong. Cost me about £27 and took about 1 hour to change. If yours is less than 1 year old the garage should change it for free for you
