    Question about MK3 gsi astra *HELP PLZ*

    Hi lost oil pressure last night, result is the bottom end is now knocking.

    I have been looking for a replacement engine;

    1.8 16v ecotec for a 1994 L reg astra

    BUT

    would a 2.0L 16v fit? i know i would need loom, ecu etc, but i dont know if the engine mounts would be ok if say the engine came from a vectra or calibra - ?HELP?

    would i also have to do anything else to be able to put the 2 litre in replace of the 1.8?

    This is the engine in at the mo;

    Thanks in advance for any replies

    X20XEV, C20XE & C20LET are all pretty straight forward drop in and wire up jobs (LET is slightly more complex but not drastically).
    Really depends on what budget your looking at. X20XEV can be picked up cheap as chips, decent C20XE;s are getting dearer and most are getting on a bit (certainly if I was buying an XE now Id be giving it a strip down and rebuild before putting it in) usually around the £500 or so mark now. C20LET;s are anywhere from £800 up depending on age condition etc, again with one of these Id be stripping and rebuilding it first as the newest ones are now some 13years old.
