Anyone done this to their rear? (Pref black MK4 owners)

With what's happened in my thread in the detailing forum re: rear badges, i had an idea

Well, no i didn't if i'm honest ... the g/f had the idea.

The Vauxhall & Astra badges, has anyone ever had this coloured the same colour as their car so that they blend in?

Trying to visualise it, i think it oculd only work with black (as in, not look awful) but even at that i'm not so sure.

Just wondered if anyone had done it & had pics of the job so it'd give me a better idea of the look

No idea, but I think it may look good. Can't decide.

You should just do it, if it works then great, if it don't then just debadge the car

i dont think they'll look good, it would just look like the whole tailgate was sprayed with the badges = a little tacky imo

unless they where quite recessed, but even then a lot of effort for very little gain

Having the griffin done looks quite good i think. I'd say especially in black, but i've only seen it in black, so there you go.

On the flip side though, once/if all these issues are ironed out, i'm thinking of switching it for the opel badge as that's my preference. So i'll have a think.

You're possibly right, but until i see it, i'm struggling to visualise it.

I think i might just sod it off tbh. I'd have to buy in some correct paint to do the job firstly & then i might not even like it.

The scratches left behind are fine & only noticable if up close. I may just make a few more visits to bodyshops & get more quotes to see if they can better the £150 for the boot that i've been given
