    Dealer service item question

My mum's asked me to check over what she was charged for at a recent service.

It all looks OK, apart from her car having been MOT'd... something which was neither needed or asked for . Luckily she spotted that and got it refunded when she collected it, but kept the certificate

One item jumps out tho, and that is "emery paper" at £1.65 -WTF is that for? Surely that is just a workshop consumable, and shouldn't be charged to the customer?

More curious on what they used it for? I'd also agree that to be charged for it, when they probably use the same bit of paper for loads of cars, is a bit cheeky!

Nearly as bad as being charged for screenwash when my car went in with a 100% full screen wash fluid bottle!

ture, but I'd excpet the remainder of the sheet being as it's been paid for.

Plus she's been charged for 5l of oil - and not all of that will fit in the sump

Emery paper obviously for the receptionist to do her nails with lol.

Seems pretty sad charging for the emery paper TBH, just another tight fisted way of screwing more money out of you.
What will they start charging for next, paper towels and swarfega so the 'technicians' can wash their hands, and when VX get really hard up I daresay they'll be invoicing for toilet roll and domestos for their toilet facilities.

Bonus with the MOT certificate BTW!

The mechanic probably filed his nails while doing the MOT.

Does seem very strange to be charged for something like that.

They'll charging you and putting the teabags they used while the car was being worked on on the invoice soon. Saying that, if they could get away with it now, they would.

    Damn you Montyfox.

I work in a main dealer, and have worked in a few. They book out shit half the time they dont even give the mechanic. Dealerships are a rip off.

    Too slow
Nice to see I'm not the only cynic on the forum

3 months free MOT is better than nowt and do let us know what the dealer says about all the invoiced quandries and oddities.
