"Help Needed Coupe Turbo Rear Shock Top Bolt"

Right i have had my car lowered by Doddy last Saturday and on taking out the top bolt for the rear drivers shock have found that its threaded!

Does anyone know without me stripping the car apart if i can get to the passive nut it bolts through the shock into as i have a new bolt and dont wanna **** that if the nut is damaged at all.

Threaded one is in and tight but not 100% so shock is moving side to side slightly!!

    Anyone help? Vauxhall couldnt!!

i think is the chassis that is threaded, i don't think its a captive nut. you'd need to get it on a set of ramps and have a good look with an inspection lamp
Coupe now being broken for parts
    You know the one

    Enquire within

depending how bad it it you could probly run a tap down it to clean the threads out but if its realy bad there may not be enough metle left
if thats the case i can see three ways to do it
1 is see if you can find a helicoil the same size and use that
2 is you could put a larger thread in it so a bigger diameter bolt fits in but then you may have to bore the inside of the damper out to match
3 could be expensive and dunno if it would work but you could cut that section out and weld a new section in with a new threaded bit

    good luck

you have to make sure you dont weaken the thread to much as it could rip the bolt out under stress
