    Cone Filter?!

    Would a green cotton cone filter fit ok on my astra h sri 2.0? The ID is size 72mm...Whats it ment to be??

    it should be fine to fit a cone filter

    but if its an open cone filter be prepared for alot of heatsoak, it'll probably impare your performance more than anything.

    i'd suggest to do the airbox mod with veccy intake pipe.

    or get a enclosed (completely!!) induction kit like the pipercross viper or venom.

    reason is you still get loads of heatsoak! (trust me i've done it) it may say that it is enclosed but the air looming round it will be hot when your standing still, so effectivly becomes like an open cone when you pull away engulfing heat from the engine decreasing performance.

    id go for airbox mods too and a decent panel filter as mine sounded like a broken tractor, didnt suffer with heatsoak tho? maybe the intercooler helped, as for the id take off the pipe on ur airbox and measure it

    well i think ill jib off the cone filter then, its a open ended one, no no point in that, i have de restristed the air-box but havnt got the veccy intake pipe! think ill leave me hatch like this untill i sell it and get a good panel filter and the vecci intake pipe for my convertible when i get that on the road! cheers for you help people
