Strange problem z20LET (engine management light) ASAP help thanks please!

    Hi,

When I ran the "engineheater" for the first time since I bought the Astra Coupé the Fan started to go on MAXIMUM when the engine is running and the engine management light came on. When I stop the engine the Fan IS STILL RUNNING, but now on lower speed. There is also another warning light running together with management light. Looks like a battery.

What can cause this strange problem?? Any ideas?? Don't want the Fan to run 24/7 so fast help is greatly appreciated!

Okay! But this just happems when I run the "engineheater"? Doesn't know if that's the right word in english, but do you know what I mean with engineheater? Do you think that the Fan is not earthed properly?

Can it have something to do with this? http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/sh...d.php?t=165305

Try disconnecting the battery for 30mins and then put the heater back on and see if it does it again.

It's working today. Plugged in the heater, and the light did not come on. Though, when starting the car, the control lights (cooling system + engine management light) take a little longer to turn off than before. I can also hear a clicking noise when turning the ignition on.

Can it still be poor earth to the Fan, so that the heater (car) works sometimes, and maybe next time I plug in the heater, the lights will come on? If so, how can I solve the problem? Where's the earth located?

Yeah well, couldn't come up with a better word. Don't really know the english word for it. Hmm...to get the engine pre-warmed...DEFA?

I had a similar problem a few years back .Try taking off front bumper and look at all the wires from the fans back to the coolant module these can get trapped around the crash bar and split

I got a fault code - P1105 which shall be barometric pressure sensor. Local mechanic told me it can be short circuit to battery or earth. Where shall I start looking, or is it enough if I change this sensor??? Haven't been looking at all the wires from fans to coolant module. Thought, maybe it can be this sensor instead? Or poor earth?
