    From across the pond.

I have a Saturn Astra XR 5door(the USA version).

I have had a problem with my rear dome light for the backseat.

It doesn't turn on, at all, no power going to it (checked with volt meter). All the lines are dead. I checked the fuses, they were good, still changed them just to be sure. Changed the bulb, no fix.

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I would take it back to the dealership but I have done some "playing" with the lighting in the car so I know it would not be covered and they would charge me an arm and a leg to fix it.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know, I am out of ideas.

What kind of playing? And has it been dead since? If so the only thing I can think of is that if you changed the leds in the roof console, I believe the wires to the rear lights are clipped to the console at a joiner there. Perhaps you disconnected the joiner or pulled a wire out of the connector somehow?

Else I'd just recheck the fuses. All I can think of sorry.

If the lights are controlled by canbus (quite possible, seeing as they come on with doors and fade, etc - but I don't know) all kinds of peculiar things can happen which the dealer'd probably need to diagnose.

    I'm out of ideas!

Not really sure when it went out. Just noticed it one day.

And the "playing" I have done is taking out my trunk light and using the wires from it to set up some leds in there.

I honestly can't remember the last time that thing worked, I never get in my backseat.

    Thanks for your help though.
