Gsi Tyre size, can you go bigger?

The tyre size of the snowflakes is 215 40 17. However on the 888 astra g the tyre size is 235 40 17.

Is there any reason why i cannot fit this size to the front?

Will there be any rubbing issues has anybody tried this?
Basically i want more grip on the front. Ive got eagle f1s on the car and i dont rate them at all. especially in the wet.

as far as i know they will fit on and not scrub the inside? but if they do, its not much of a problem, just use spacers?
but about 90% sure they'll go on without problem

why not just get different rubber?

Uniroyal Rainsportt 2s are the best rubber Ive ever used....and are phenomonal in the wet

Im on 215.40.17 and currently have 220bhp (soon to be about 270) and they are excellent in wet and dry

Thats what id recommend anyway....each to their own

the importance of my post was referring to in wet weather

theres shitloads of good rubber that perform well in the dry but not many can perform equally if not better in the wet

You can't put 235 tyres on a GSi alloy as they ain't wide enough.
