    Control Module Confusion

    Hi,

Got a 1.8 16v Astra G Sport. Engine management light has come on, had it read and fan control module (or something similar) got noted on the reader. Phoned Vauxhall and they were useless, he was giving me the location of the coolant control module but was telling me this was my ECU!! Anyway, I have realised I don't have a coolant control module behind the front bumper under the headlight, it has disappeared/fallen off/was never there!!

I don't have AC, so what am I trying to replace to make this light go out???
Any wheel issues anyone has, gimme a shout!

Could it just be the switch for the cooling fan thats at fault?

Thanks for the reply, I was kind of hoping someone could tell me?!?!?

I presume, due to the car not having AC I shouldn't have the control mdule thingamee bob. Now it all started when one day the fan would just stay on with the engine. After a day or so of that, it just stopped kicking in and the temp gauge also doesn't work with it. But should I have the ignition turned on (with the engine off) for a certain amount of time the temp gauge decides to start working until you start the car then the gauge stops working again.

I had a mate plug the car in and from what I can remember it only mention a problem with the fan. I spoke to someone who 'knows' about Vauxhalls and he mentioned this control module (that I haven't got) is more than likely the problem.....

Where would I find the fan control switch and are they expensive?

Unfortunatly your engine will probably be a "X" series engine which I don;'t have diagrams for. From the "Z" series engine though the fans are controlled via the ecu so probably the same temp sensor as the temp guage
