    I've no idea mate.

I was one of the unlucky ones and my engine did go on fire. They replaced and fixed everything right enough so it wasn't too bad.

I got the same letter in on Friday so I'll need to give them a call and see if mines still needs done.

Hi... new here but i just got one of these letters today... i wasnt aware of the problem till i got it.. its only done 22k so far but will get it booked in asap. Does the replacement solve the problem, or will it need replacing again in a few years to prevent problems? anyone know how long the job should take?
    cheers

As far as I'm aware that should solve the problem.

It shouldn't take too long for them to replace it. A lot quicker than it is for them to repair fire damage anyway.

no they dont drain the oil.

all they do is open bonnet, remove switch (above exhaust manifold, but below cam cover), stick a security bit screw in the hole with threadlock to stop leaking, remove the wiring and tech2 it out of the ECU.

oh and yes the replacement part solves the possible problem (as they are blocking it up) lol

when mine went in they had it most of the day, but i had a courtesy car so they could take their time but shouldnt take more than 1hr

    job done lol

If they remove the switch, what is telling you that you have low oil pressure?
Mind you by the time the light as told you, the damage will be done for sure.

nothing warns you of low oil pressure, but like you said if the light comes on then the damage has already been done
