Question Question about radio in Mk5

I am the new owner of a 2007 1.7CDTi Life having drowned my faithful old Mk4 2.0DTi in the recent monsoon in Northumberland.

In the Mk4 when I removed the key from the ignition the radio would switch off and when I started the car the radio would remember whether it was on or off previously.

In my new Mk5 the radio carries on playing after I remove the key and even when I've locked the car. Does it eventually go off or do I have to switch it off whenever I leave the car? I've only had the car a couple of days so I haven't figured this out yet.

    Thanks for any help

    Regards

press the "settings" button on the stereo and go into the system settings (IIRC). the only thing that will come up if u have the CD30 will be IGN Logic (or summet like that) change the setting to ON.

this will change the stereo to use aux power, so when u turn the engine off or take the keys out it will automatically turn off.

OK, so a slightly different question.

My car has a CD30 MP3, and it always switches on when I start the car, even if it was off when I turned the car off. How can I sort this out?

The car had a CD30 in it when I first looked at it, but got the dealer to put a CD30 MP3 in it when I bought it. I've tried changing the settings on the radio, but it still comes on when I start the car.

when the dealer fitted the mp3 model, maybe he didnt activate something on tech2 properly as when i used 2 start the car the stereo remembered if it was on/off the previous time.

also maybe coz it didnt have the cd30 mp3 as standard the wiring is different on the back and so isnt keeping an aux power.

i only had the base model so not really too sure mate

You need to switch the Ignition Logic to off.
